Sus cantos recogen la tradici\u00f3n afro y festiva de los asentamientos de los pueblos de las riberas del r\u00edo Magdalena. Nacida en San Mart\u00edn de Loba, coraz\u00f3n del Sur del departamento de Bol\u00edvar, recogi\u00f3 estos cantos de boca de su padre, don Cayetano Camargo, un campesino y prol\u00edfico compositor, que leg\u00f3 a su hija una herencia que ella ha hecho viva con la composici\u00f3n de nuevos temas en sus 30 a\u00f1os de vida art\u00edstica. En 2018 public\u00f3 su cuarta producci\u00f3n discogr\u00e1fica titulada <em>Paisaje en tambora, <\/em>una muestra m\u00e1s de su consolidada carrera. Ha realizado conciertos en muchas ciudades de Colombia, y en pa\u00edses de \u00c1frica, Am\u00e9rica del Norte y Europa, en los que muestra su impecable manejo esc\u00e9nico y constante comunicaci\u00f3n con su p\u00fablico. Desde 2008, Martina ha compartido sus cantos y juegos tradicionales con ni\u00f1os en universidades y colegios, una de las maneras que ha encontrado de preservar la tradici\u00f3n. Muchos de esos cantos est\u00e1n compilados en el \u00e1lbum <em>Canto y Juego a Ritmo de Tambora<\/em>. En 2009 su \u00e1lbum <em>Canto, Palo y Cuero<\/em> fue seleccionado como uno de los mejores \u00e1lbumes del a\u00f1o por la revista\u00a0 <em>Semana<\/em> y nominado a los premios <em>Shock<\/em> y <em>Nuestra Tierra<\/em>.
